Harry Reid killed her ban proposal, plain and simple.
Her own party didn't even support her and blaming the NRA is just trying to save face.

Dated 3/19/2013:
Harry Reid shoots down Feinstein gun-ban bill - Washington Times
Sen. Dianne Feinstein emerged from a closed-door meeting with Majority Leader Harry Reid on Monday — but her ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition magazines didn't.
Mr. Reid turned down her attempt to bring her ban on 157 different weapons and ammunition clips aboard the Democratic Party's comprehensive gun bill, Politico reported.

Strong Majority of Americans, NRA Members Back Gun Control - US News and World Report
If this was true, it would have easily passed. It would have passed overwhelmingly.

A sizable 89 percent of all respondents, and 75 percent of those identified as NRA members, support universal background checks for gun sales.

You know it's total B.S. when you read this. Let's discard those who are not NRA members but still support gun rights for a moment. NRA members in no way support the total unworkable idea that they have to get a background check on their co-worker when they sell him one of their guns. Or his neighbor.

It's simply not true.

You simply don't want it to be true. But that's OK.

I do feel safe in knowing that the bans will never pass when this is the only kind of defense those for them can come up with.

Hopefully Reid will stick to his word and allow it to be brought up as an Amendment and voted on. It will be interesting to see which Senators openly vote against the desires of the American people. Problem is there are a number of Dems owned by the NRA as well.

Then we ask ourselves why hasn't such an overwhelmingly popular bill been voted on yet if it is so popular? Yes, hopefully he allows it to be voted on separately. The reason we haven't had one yet is because they can't come up with a way to vote without the vote going down bad for them.

Way too few members of Congress give rat's a$$ what the American people want, until there's an impending election. Then there is some short term display of concern.

So they actually don't want this and that is why they are going to vote it down? Their words are simply rhetoric to appease the overwhelming majority you claim is for this?

You are correct and it is a fact. But it has about as much to do with it's use in combat as a dragster did to a model T. They both had wheels and an engine.
