This will be interesting. I wonder how long it will be before illegals are protected under the same legislation. Providing we are letting them stay here.

You know there is a federal statute not allowing undocumented aliens[AP aproved] to own or possess firearms.

In CA the State will sell illegals a license and tag but then DFW will confiscate their weapon. Awesome.

What makes you think illegals will obey? or our government enforce the law?

Were you about to explain why green card holders should not be allowed to own a gun?

I do not know all the laws for immigrants so I don't really know how long it takes to become a US citizen and be able to purchase firearms or if anything the person did prior to being in the states gets pulled forward. With all the take about background checks and things like that, my question is what good is a background check if say they've only been in the country a year or two ? What kind of a life did they lead in their prior country ? Will this stuff be known ? What if they were a murderer in their own country and come here and become a citizen, now they are allowed to purchase firearms ?
A funny thing is I see some screen names that I've had gun rights debates with on this forum and now the very same people that want more restrictions are now saying " why can't they have firearms rights too ?" Very interesting.
