He was not referring to corporations or politics. He was complaining about the unfairly high taxes against the rich.
Pointing at Virginia’s former Republican Congressman Tom Davis, Maher said, “You know what? Rich people – I’m sure you’d agree with this – actually do pay the freight in this country.”
“I just saw these statistics,” he continued, “I mean, something like 70 percent. And here in California, I just want to say liberals – you could actually lose me. It’s outrageous what we’re paying – over 50 percent. I’m willing to pay my share, but yeah, it’s ridiculous.”
His EXACT words and the meaning is very clear.
Funny how the left keep trying to deflect and twist his words around. Fact is, some on the other side are starting to wake up and realize the disaster BO is making of this country.
Maher has always been an advocate of stopping the shoveling money to corporations and getting money out of politics. This includes both parties. I don't see how it is "waking up" to anything to keep saying what he has been for years.
What he has just come to understand now, is that the people at the top are paying the largest share of the taxes. I can't believe he didn't know that before, but this is the story that is out there. I guess he reallly did think the rich were not paying their "fair share."

Well, knock him over with a feather. I am sure Rachel Maddow was having a cow, a mad cow.
Big corporations employee lots of people and this country needs them badly. Also small businesses. The last thing we need to do is 'demonize' any business. Government does not create jobs despite what lefties want to believe.
Small businesses get zero support from this administration.
But back to the topic.... It is very telling that maher is starting to speak out against BO and the left knows that!!
Not "demonizing" big corporations, I am just saying they make more than enough money and don't need all the loopholes they get to enjoy.
Obviously it's ok to raise taxes on the other guy, just not him.
