Paying millions is not high taxes? Gotta love you folks that yammer on about percentages.

Touché.

House paid in full. Prop 13. Tax-free muni bonds. Half Moon Bay, Monterey, Big Sur, Napa Valley. What's not to love?

American's should be unhappy with taxes for the simple reason that we don't get anything for them. In Europe they have higher taxes but at least they get their health care covered. And most European countries have better health care systems than the US.

What do we get for our taxes? A massive military that spends more than the next 13 countries combined.

When the government wants to provide health care for the poor some people throw up their hands and say "where will we get the money! we can't afford it!" but when the government wants to spend billions more on defense when we already spend too much on defense, these same people say nothing. Well, some of them say 'MERICA f**k yea!

They don't get it. They really think they pay 20+% in income taxes and that Romney pays a lower rate, even though Romney pays an effective tax rate higher than 97% of Americans.

Obama repeated the lie over and over during the election and millions were too stupid to figure out the truth.

As for Maher, I hope the government squeezes him for every last penny. He gave Obama $1 Million to push raises taxes on the wealthy. He should have to pay twice the tax rate as everyone else as a result.

And you don't?
The left has gone just as crazy. Bill's ok with that until it hits his tight wallet.

No, I don't care if someone worships a goat or whatever. I'm not religious but respect people's right to be. And I'm not a public figure.

Lately I've noticed hippie and libertine liberals calling themselves libertarian mostly because of things like pot legalization and gay marriage and it's a joke to real libertarians because there are more serious and pressing issues like protecting the second amendment and cutting government spending.

Employment is improving ... thank you Obama!

Housing is improving .... thank you Obama!
Whether thats true or not is beside the point. Its definitely not due to Obama.

Obama in his own words "I actually wanna govern at least for a couple of years"---Sorry to burst your bubble!

Bill Maher's in favor of both. Especially when it comes to military spending.

His tax rate is 11% and that's after he padded it up to look better. It's almost a certainty that in most of the last decade he never paid any net taxes what so ever so, no, he has not paid enough. If I have to pay 25%-30% then he can pay that rate as well given that he makes millions more than me. Notice how his effective tax rate would have to effectively almost triple to get him up to that point though?

That would be just so he pays the same tax rate as the rest of us.

No one is keeping Maher hostage in California. He can move to a state with less taxes, like Palinland.
