A common theme in recent discussions here on CD is that those against new common sense gun safety laws want those who support the laws to ADMIT that they really want all guns banned.

I don't want all guns banned. I have met very, very few who do.

This is another instance where the right wing is fighting the caricature of a liberal spoon fed to them by the right wing media and internet echo chamber-- instead of the real opposition.

The real opposition seems to want three things:

1) Ban in assault style weapons (yes, I know this term needs to be better defined)
2) Limit on magazine capacity
3) Comprehensive Background checks on all purchasers

That's it. If you're against those three things-- fine. But railing against people who want to "ban all guns-- but won't admit it" only retards the debate and makes you look foolish.

There is only 2 options to this debate. You want them banned, which means you want ANY restrictions put in place because eventually it will lead to guns being banned or you are for the 2nd amendment there is no other options here. I am for the 2nd amendment its the only law we need for guns. Its also the only one I will follow.

Why are AR type rifles called "assault Weapons" when civilians own them but are called Personal Defense Weapons when DHS has them? Anyway, they shouldn't be banned, they are nothing more than an ordinary semi-auto rifle with a facelift.

Not so. Only sales through licensed dealers do this. Many other private sales, including sales at many gun shows, aren't required to do it. And this is something that should be fixed and should not be opposed by anyone in his or her right mind. It shouldn't even be controversial.
