I know there has been a trend in these topics on C-D lately, but after reading the whole article, this is nothing new. Been going on since the 1990s. Not to downplay the incidents or anything, but it's exclusively the cholos doing the crimes and I bet you a lot of them were trained in their extreme racism from prison, which is a huge breeding ground of racism
Well, I saw it in the Los Angeles Times. Blacks and Hispanics often clash - especially rival gangs. And neither have any love for the Koreans. People who live in SoCal know this.

Hispanics have become the majority in Compton and have made it a much more peaceful place.
What is wrong with preventing it from reverting to the hellhole that it once was?
I thought that progress was a good thing.
It sounds like the hispanics had every intention of making it a hellhole for these people -- and all the other black families they've driven out. It has to be a pure Mexican neighborhood - no black or white Americans allowed.

Once a person goes to prison, racism isn't a choice, it is a way of survival.
This is sad, but true.
Protection in prison is based on racial grounds, and those who try to stay above the fray are quickly brought back into the fold because to be neutral in prison is to be a traitor.
Prisons are breeding grounds of violence and racism - a primary reason why they should be abolished.
