I don't see how this matters in the long run. France will allow for homosexuals to adopt children. On another note, I notice how many, albeit RebelYell included, seem to agree with the protesters in the link, but offers no solution to orphaned children. I guess for them, its better to be a subject of the state and be susceptible to the pitfalls of being an orphan than being adapted by gay couples; where they will likely be adopted by parents that want them and will be able to take care of their needs..

Of course they don't, they only care up to the point the kids exit the womb... then those kids are on their own.
At least some cultures still believe in decency and not allowing children to be exposed to the disgusting acts like this....
I agree with banning homosexuals from adopting children right now. I emphasize the "right now". Should a sufficient amount of credible research show that the children of homosexual couples have equal or better outcomes on average to those of heterosexual couples I would change that position. It should only be a matter of whether it is a provably healthy environment for children or not, and personal feelings about homsexual relationships have no business being in legislation. You're free to find them disgusting, but it is a free country and therefore I don't think that personal opinions about how people "should" conduct their personal lives have any place in the law.

I also doubt they would adopt these orphans themselves, you know ,actually doing something useful with their existence instead of trying to make it worse for others.
I guess that would be too much.

Well, by your logic we should demand results from a process which at the same time should be banned. There already is a fair amount of credible research being conducted on the subject, all with positive results. In particular, they're more prone to adopt older, minority and special-needs children, compared to heterosexual couples.
Ah yes, good for the minority of French people that wear their hate on their sleeve and took to the street to show how much they hate one type of person.
