Let's state facts. Few, if any, are talking about outlawing all firearms. Your shotgun, hunting rifle, and hand gun are safe. Your ar15 with a 30 round clip is safe. No one is talking about confiscation, they are talking about future purchase.
Hell, if you own a bunch of assault weapons, you should favor a new ban. It'll double your guns value.
Rationalizing the loss of a right is your prerogative.
But once a right is lost, it is usually permanent.
Just look at all the things one needs a license to do, that once was not subject to licensing.

I am not looking to double my guns value, I am looking at my childs future to better protect themselves from criminals and tyranny.

I've never heard anyone suggest confiscating guns except on CD by gloom and doomers. And I could care less if certain weapons were banned or just plane NOT MADE ANYMORE. A regular gun for protection yes, some of this other stuff that's out there....not seeing the upside to your kid having it.

The talk of revolution is nonsense, as many here have mentioned. Americans are 90% talk and only 10% action. Besides, direct revolution is designed to fail. Be like termites, slowly eating away at the corrupt system till it collapses.
I see the usual stupid crap about how the feds are gonna snatch everyone's weapons. How incredibly dumb would you have to be to think that anything like that is about to happen? Don't any of you want to try to understand the REAL world of politics instead of living in a fantasy land? It's also really not that hard for Obama to figure out what would happen if he suspended the Constitution to go around breaking into homes and confiscating things.
But in the spirit of the discussion, I guess if it happened we could cut loose the Dixie states, that would relieve us of a tremendous burden. Too bad it didn't happen last time.
