LOL...the GOP will never get it. Trotting out a black and latino isn't going to do it. We have told you numerous times that blacks have been voting Democrat for a long time, but right-wingers continue to say that we voted for Obama just because he's black. When that doesn't work, they move on to say we vote for handouts. So I guess now we are supposed to be scared of Democrats losing black and latino votes because you trot out a token black and latino. Keep thinking that insulting our intelligence will gain votes and you may as well make your donations to the left because you're doing a heck of a job helping Democrats to win.
Voting straight party instead of for individual candidates is just as bad as voting race.
OK, so are we saying that the Republican party must prop up and paste the faces of a couple of minorities in order to stand a chance of winning in 2016? Is that how the Republican party plans to reel in the African-American and Latino vote? If that is the case, you might as well include an Asian countenance given that they TOO overwhelmingly vote Democratic.
IMHO, it's not a matter of the candidates' race, face, color or last name. It's about the party's stance on several key issues, some of which (e.g., ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION) I hope and pray they will never give in to.
The GOP has become the "NO" party:
- NO to women's reproductive rights
- NO to homosexuals
- NO to same-sex marriage
- NO to global warming
- NO to reducing our dependence on fossil fuels
Ever heard of the phrase, "give an inch to take a mile?"
What is so wrong with allowing Roe vs Wade to remain the law of the land, all the while acknowledging that life begins at conception, and that abortion should be a "choice" of last resorts?
What is wrong with acknowledging that that some people are attracted to others of their same sex? And if that is the case, why not allow them to marry and share the ups, downs, and divorces the rest of us go thru?
What is wrong with assuming that there may be something to the theory of global warming and enacting energy policies based on that possibility? After all, Sandy and Katrina have proven that there is something to that global warming thing which most of the Earth's residents have already acknowledged.
What is wrong with changing our dependence from fossil fuels to renewable fuels? In so doing, we end up burning fuels which emit minuscule amounts of contaminants when compared to coal and petroleum based fuels.
I'm Latino and have voted for Republicans more than I have for Democrats, and was willing to vote against President Obama had Newt Gingrich been the party's Presidential candidate. The GOP needs progressive versus regressive thinking. This is the 21st century. The GOP desperately needs to get its head out of the 19th and 20th century if it aspires to remain a legitimate political party.
You can have a guy named Jose Cuevo as your candidate, as long as the GOP continues to demonize me and my family, this Hispanic is not voting Republican.
Apparently the OP doesn't realize that a Cuban American "Hispanic" is different.
There is one "minority" Republican who could do quite well, Michael Steele. That's not because of his skin color, but because he's moderate, intelligent, and not afraid to say where his party has gone wrong.

Then according to Republicans he isn't a true conservative. Anyone who acknowledges what's wrong with the party or America is a socialist, un-patriotic, buffoon. For the 2016 Ticket it will only get more conservative, I bet my truck on that.
