They will just put a high enough tax to where the average Joe cannot afford to buy.
Sadly they voters there as well as NY and CA haven't got the wake up call yet....

I dont think the Democrats are politically suicidal with gun control at this point so from a federal standpoint, there shouldn't be too much of a push for control.
A tax like Chicago's on gun purchases doesn't really slow people down either because it's a one-time thing. The fear should be focused on the possibility of huge taxes on ammunition. If a $3 pack of cigarettes can have a $6 tax put on it; imagine what they could do with a $50 box of ammo.

Everyone in America ought to have a fully-stocked assault weapon cabinet in their domiciles.

No reason. Just because...

Sin taxes are not designed to curb usage, they are designed to generate revenue. You guys are looking at this as a 2nd amendment issue in Chicago when it's really about money. They'd tax diapers more if they thought they'd get away with it.

The people in NJ after Sandy would agree with you.

of course I disagree, rights should not be charged for. buying the firearm is one thing, but the state should not be able to collect 1 dime for it.

Do you think that only one firearm is enough?

They are tools - you need the right one for any given situation.

That means having more than one around.
