You've said it often enough.

I saw something like that on Dr. Phil once. A woman having an affair with a man was upset that he was still sleeping with his wife.

Takes two to tangle, remember that! hard for one to have an affair with themself.

If you have will power, and love for your spouse, no person can make you do, what you choose not to do. If your a weak person, and need an excuse to cheat, you will cheat. We need someone strong with a strong will not to make the wrong decisions, in his position.

We do not need someone like this in the position he holds, what about blackmail etc. Something not right with this whole dang situation, from our 4 Americans who have died, to now this., something not right, and believe the truth will prevail.

Default Affairs schmafairs.

Who else thinks General Patreous's affair was irrelevant to everyone except his friends and family...and Bill Clinton's for that matter?

Usually I do ... but in national security, it's a genuine hazard.

Apparently Patraeus found it relevant considering his position within the national government.

I think if your spouse can't trust you, no one else can trust you either.

But I don't understand how men can be so DUMB and put their reputation, career, marriage, family - EVERYTHING - at risk for sex. Women are smarter than that, or maybe sex just isn't as important to them.

The General will appear before the Committee ( House and Senate ) ... in private ... or with just the ranking members and their staff, to answer questions. That's my best guess. The conspiracy stuff is offered by people here who more often than not walk around with tin foil hats on their heads. The dust will settle regarding his resignation, and then the Congress will move on. It's likely the General will be charged under military law for violations which took place before he resigned. He may face other charges, as well. And it's likely his poor judgment will take down others ... also. I respect years of service to our country, but I have no sympathy for him for what he's done.

Just read in the paper today that the only reason he resigned was because it went public and, once the public knew, he felt morally obligated to resign. Had the affair been kept private, which was the first course of action, he had planned to stay on. So far, it appears that there was no breach in security.
