"And while the FBI was looking into a number of harassing emails from Petraeus’ alleged mistress Paula Broadwell to a family friend of the former four-star general and delving into the head of the CIA’s personal life, the federal agency was also forced to deal with allegations of inappropriate conduct by one of its own agents. The agent in question allegedly sent “shirtless photos” of himself to a woman involved in the case before the investigation began, according to The Wall Street Journal."
This is becoming a soap opera. The media is immediately picking up all this trash, but doesn't do much investigating/reporting about why 4 Americans were killed in Benghazi.
The mainstream news media are not in the business of investigative journalism. Again, they report the "news" that streams daily from AP or from WH officials. If you want deeper reporting you have to dig for it, go to alternative sources and judge for yourself, putting two and two together. Not everyone knows how to add, however.
Sadly he was in a very important position with knowledge of lots of secrets. His lack of judgement in having a affair and sharing info with her ment he had to resign.
It was not an affair with just any bimbo. It was an affair with his biographer who was "embedded" with him on the war front. Kind of has huge implications.
Another Watergate at this period in history may be just the medicine to shock an apathetic America back into their senses.
I remember that Watergate sure did.
And I don't say that to imply "get Obama out of office". The buck may not have gone all the way to the top..seriously.
America has gone from complacency to apathy. We don't care that stories don't add up or that they are not told by the MSM yet are told in foreign news sources.
Maybe a shock to the system will steer it back on track.

There are no Woodwards or Bernsteins anymore. The MSM is totally bought and paid for by TPTB.
The Republicans don't have to hope for a scandal. It's being ready made for them. The question is, what is the real scandal? Extramarital affairs?
These things happen.
I'm more amused as to how many people forget his career.
The 2007 3-ring circus grilling of Petraeus after he took over in Iraq.
He was grilled by Biden, Obama and most of all Hillary Clinton....who essentially told him he was either wrong or lying about how Iraq was improving (and it was)...because they were all jockeying for position leading up to the primaries.
Then the moveon.org attack on him...followed by his 2010 appointment by Obama at which time all reference to Petraues or "Betray Us" as they called him was stricken from their website.
He came into a bad situation in Iraq and stabilized the place...I'm not going to pillory the guy over his affair.
Not really. He is/was another top commander over in the ME.
They've been spying on him since 2010.
He was having his Senate confirmation next week.
If they were spying on him for 3 years and had all this dirt, do you really think he would have been nominated in the first place ?
Seems to me that someone is doing housecleaning in the military and they've been gathering information on these guys for 3 years. The question though is why is it all coming out now ?
Good question.
Pretty ironic that at least two top officials are involved, and possibly even more? who knows?
It's looking like some military careers are going down the toilet for sure. Hard to believe these people might have thought nobody was watching.
When I was in the military, in my career field, one of the things they told us is that our actions were constantly watched. We were always reminded
of the UCMJ and it's wrath.

Having an affair is not a crime. The FBI determined there was no breach of national security and it has yet to be proven that he shared any info with her. Unless her statement that the compound was attacked because there were Libyan prisoners being held at the annex is true. That is something we will probably never know about unless it comes out during the hearings. Then again, the hearings are behind closed doors.
Good question.

It's more than 2. Three or four weeks ago 5-6 high ranking officials over in the ME got shuffled around, reassigned and/or brought back to desk jobs here in the US.
That is a lot of high ranking movement in a very short time.
Here's one story about the Navy Admiral. There's more out there.
Navy replaces admiral leading Mideast strike group - Washington Times
The U.S. Navy said Saturday it is replacing the admiral in command of an aircraft carrier strike group in the Middle East, pending the outcome of an internal investigation into undisclosed allegations of inappropriate judgment.
