I'll never buy a small car. They aren't safe. Even "top safety picks" in the small sedan market have huuuuuge death rates compared to bigger vehicles.

If it was bigger I would.

Can only drive it 25 miles and need a charge.. now where can I plug in my car ? Wonder why Obama doesn't have a bunch of chevy volts in his motorcade .. it is called practice what you preach.

No, way. The idea of a car like this is good, but I think they jumped the gun on it. But, it is so not practical. They needed more research and time to work out it's kinks...or I should say, nooses.

Problem with electric cars is, just like with hybrids, battery technology has barely made advances in recent decades. The battery is the problem, not the car itself. Unfortunately, we can't seem to find battery techinology that can hold a substantial amount of charge without becoming a mini hydrogen bomb.

Diesel cars in Europe get a range of 50-60mpg. That's as much as, or more, than a gasoline hybrid. No battery mess to deal with, plus batteries lose their charge overtime as well.
