Today, working people across the country reflect on the struggles of the middle class in America, while thanking those who have been part of the struggle, namely Democrats.

Republicans celebrate outsourcing, record corporate profits and CEO pay, and tax breaks for the wealthiest Americans, while those low wage, low information voters who celebrate (and vote for) the Republican Party express their contempt for the struggling middle class, while secretly wishing the same slave wage on others as they willingly and dutifully accept.

To those who fight for a disappearing middle class, Happy Labor Day.

Kind of strange you'd blame Republicans only, with my experience in construction when a Republican is in office we have plenty of work, with a Democrat those construction workers lose their businesses and more people end up on welfare........why is that?

I do believe Obama is the first President to have higher welfare recipients is that what you call working for a paycheck??

Your post is nothing short of a listing of Democrat talking points. Which blog did you compile them from? Think Prog, MM, Kos, White House.gov?

We're BBQing and enjoying some tasty brew, also, but we are reflecting -- especially on such things as gas prices. And being Labor Day, we are thinking about all the family members and friend we have who are either out of work or underemployed.

It did? I'm sure you have proof that signing the republican bill created by Bush sent "hundreds of thousands of middle class jobs to Mexico"

Hmm... Let's try this again with some data:

Unemployment rate Jan 1961 (Dem takes over): 6.6%
Unemployment rate Jan 1969 (Dem tenure ends, Rep takes over): 3.4% | Net Change under Dem: -3.2%
Unemployment rate Jan 1977 (Rep tenure ends, Dem takes over): 7.5% | Net Change under Rep: +4.1%
Unemployment rate Jan 1981 (Dem tenure ends, Rep takes over): 7.5% | No Net Change under Dem
Unemployment rate Jan 1993 (Rep tenure ends, Dem takes over): 7.3% | Net Change under Rep: -0.2%
Unemployment rate Jan 2001 (Dem tenure ends, Rep takes over): 4.2% | Net Change under Dem: -3.1%
Unemployment rate Jan 2009 (Rep tenure ends, Dem takes over): 7.8% | Net Change under Rep: +3.6%
Unemployment rate Jul 2012 (after 3.5 yrs of Dem tenure): 8.3% | Net Change under Dem: +0.5%

Maybe all the sawdust is affecting your memory.
