Thankfully she is starting chemotherapy in spite of the pregnancy. I hope some of the anti-choice people think about this when they argue that abortion should be illegal because life starts at conception or that a woman who wants an abortion should just go to another state if her state has made abortion practically impossible to get, as Mississippi is trying to do.
"A pregnant leukemia patient, whose life was at risk because anti-abortion laws in the Dominican Republic prevented doctors from treating her, has started receiving chemotherapy, officials said Thursday.
The 16-year-old started chemotherapy treatment in the country's capital late Tuesday night, hospital officials said. The patient, whose identity has not been released because she's a minor and because of the hospital's privacy policy, is 10 weeks pregnant. Doctors were hesitant to give her chemotherapy because such treatment could terminate the pregnancy -- a violation of the Dominican Constitution, which bans abortion."
Just think, had she practiced contraception control, the innocent life growing inside of her wouldn't be suffering through chemo and the 16 yr. old would not even presented with further potential complications.
Prayers that both she and her baby come though these unharmed.
Clue: The respect for innocent human life is the foundation upon which liberty is built.
More likely because she was an irresponsible idiot.
Many if not ost teenagers are irresponsible and make idiotic choices
