I think it was pretty obvious I was referring to people who weren't breaking any laws. By the way, when you are speeding you are asked to produce a license, an ID alone would not be enought

That of course assumes the US government is doing all it can to control immigration at the border. But we know the answer to that is a laugh.

The constitution of the US doesn't have a clause for the 4th that requires the government to effectively enforce immigration. Sorry, I read the 4th and don't see anywhere where it says "except if the government is enforcing immigrationlaws" The 4th amendment stands, regardless

They're doing a lot more under this President than they've ever done before. How much more do you want?

Hahahaha that was the funniest thing all day. Obama just handed about a million illegals work visas -- basically an amnesty and has stopped enforcing immigration laws -- except for very vile criminals who should be executed or given life without parole, instead they are merely returned home so they can get new identities and return when they please. Obama is most definitely not doing more than any president except trying to entice more to come illegally by promising them a big amnesty.

A reason the US Constitution doesn't say much about immigration is back in 1798 we needed every warm body we could get to fill up millions of square miles of out frontier before we lost it to the Spanish/Mexicans, the Russians, or the British from Arcadia, Lower Canada, Upper Canada or the Hudson's Bay Concession.

if you are a citizen you wont be demanding your 4th admendment rights, if you are not, u need to demand them in your own country not mine. foreigners have taken our jobs and their own countries wont buy our products but want to sell them here.
too many parasites will kill the host.

Yes -- but also it was obvious that we "deported" the British. Some people see no reason for us to block the 2 billion impoverished people from coming over for the generous welfare handouts we provide anyone who comes here who cannot make it here.

Immigration post Great Society certainly is very different. Prior to the big welfare programs it was far more difficult to come here is you had no ability to adapt. That's obviously very changed now and they even advertise food stamps and WIC and Medicaid to immigrants in their own country's language. At one time immigrants who couldn't make it here returned home.

How very foolish of us to entice the least capable to come here and get on the many welfare programs and crank out kids they can never support.

Asheville Native - you even use the words "illegal immigrant"

. I know you are from North Carolina - so is my cousin - who is entirely against illegal immigration - which is currently plagueing that state, We need to end it.

My cousin(she) will help to do it.

The border enforcement agencies have seen an increase in 30,000 personnel since the Bush years. The fence everyone used to holler for is just about finished. Last year, there were about 400,000 deportations, an all-time record and not the same thing as "catch and release" as practiced during the Bush/Clinton/Bush/Reagan years. Illegals caught in one place (say...San Ysidro, CA) are returned to Mexico as far from their point of entry as possible (say...Brownsville, TX) to preclude them contracting with their coyotes and coming right back. The flow of illegals has been reduced to such a trickle that ICE is now concentrating on other things.

What else do you want?
