According to whose version of history?! Lyndon Johnson pushed through the Civil Rights Act. The only dems who were against it were the Dixiecrats. They abandoned ship at that point, and went Repub. Good riddance!

I don't suppose you can peak a little more under the rocks and find any left-wing radicals that pose a greater danger?,....Or is that simply not on your agenda?
Face the facts - the Tea Party has indeed started making it's mark in our politics. And that's the real fear...Isn't it?....People that are too centrist, and want less government.
