Obama, women, and the draft (Ron Paul, military, election, elect)

The Obama administration announced in February that women will now be placed in combat positions.

Some of you will recall that President Obama has declared his belief that women should be required to register for the Selective Service.

Given that Obama has openly flirted with various compulsory service schemes (here, and here) on a national level, we may reasonably conclude that if the man is re-elected a military draft for women is probably in the works.

So, gentlemen, when Obama comes for your daughters, what's your plan?

Just so ya know, women have been serving in combat long before President Obama was sworn into office.
You can assume anything you want, but there is no draft and isn't going to be one. Now if we do want an even playing field why wouldn't women be required to register with the Selective Service?
If I had a daughter I know she would do her duty, as my son did, as his father, grandfather, uncles, cousins and even aunt did before her.

I don't believe it's a reasonable conclusion. They may have to register but the likelyhood of a draft is slim.

Yes, women should be required to register with Selective Service.

As for my daughter, she plans on following family tradition and joining the military when she graduates in 2014. She has our full support.

Never Served your Country have you, it is obvious. I am a Man that has served his Nation as has his family, that is more than I can say about the type of Man you may be, bet you are raising more just like you, be glad there are people such as myself and others here that make it possible for you to be free to rant about the evils of the military.

I absolutely hate the idea but it's not my place to tell a woman that she can't serve her country.

Whose values exactly?

Sorry, but putting America's daughters, sisters, and even mothers in harm's way aren't my values. They certainly weren't the values that made this country great. I can't think of a single American war hero before the 1990s who wouldn't regard this as pure barbarism.
