The problem with your theory is that the internet is not owned by the United States government. Unlike your work PC, you are guaranteed a certain level of privacy as a citizen of this nation when using your personal computer. In typical liberal fashion, it seems like you Big Government types are ready to roll over and acquiesce to the Government that you rely on for everything else you want and need in this life......privacy be damned. Absolutely disgusting.

Oh, so it's liberals who support things like laws against gay marriage and abortion? It was a liberal who headed up the NSA?..

Gimme a break.

I imagine many of them really think that this list of words that sets off alarms for DHS is the new dictionary that we must live by.

Did you just now call Ray1945 and idiot? It sure sounded like it since you said there is no privacy online in reply to a post from Ray.

Actually, the FBI does not have access to the "friends" feature since it's the private property of Facebook. Unless of course you have evidence to suggest otherwise?

I love it when people make up claims as to how they KNOW government agencies have access to restricted features and are spying on them. Of course, they have no evidence, but they "know" it. People need to separate reality from Hollywood. This isn't a Bourne movie.

Anyway here is a fine list of the words and phrases that set them off watching people. Some really fine words turn them on to watching you so studying that list may be helpful, especially if you use Facebook or Twitter.

I will repeat post #5:
If you go directly to the Analyst's Desktop Binder, you will quickly discover that "Social Media" refers to online news sources(page 17 of 39). Your Twitter and FB accounts are safe.

If the DHS is using keywords, they really are living in the stone age of data analytics. I wouldn't worry about them.

Government agencies are usually far behind the latest tech and what hackers can do. I'm really not concerned about this any more than worrying about someone listening to my phone calls, zeroing in on me with a satellite, or reading my snail-mail. There are no resources to monitor everyone but if your name ends up on an agencies hot sheet for doing shady things you may have to deal with the fallout.

Hmmm , i haven't heard of anyone in the Infrastructure community being contacted by the Feds over using those words.... I'm sure if you string words together like Bomb and MARTA they might come after you ...but theres also some common sense involved... They wouldn't go after a person joking....they would go after a person who is more serious...and amps up post after post. It would have to be over a period of weeks on the same site and reported to the Feds with sites like these.... City-Data is classified as Social Media by Internet standards.... How do I know this , one of the sites I use has a large arab section and the admins report any serious threats to the Feds....most sites do..... Also almost all those words are common use words....so I have my doubts about that being the list , if there is any list...
