Round 1 was won clearly by Boehner when he forced Obama to extend the Bush tax cuts for 2 years.
Round 2 was won by Obama when he forced Boehner to raise the debt ceiling with no cuts.
Round 3 coming up! Who blinks? I say Obama blinks.

Hopefully Obama won’t give in to this crap.

I don't think so. Boner is just trying to beat his chest and act like a tough guy to appeal to the teabaggers.

Obama took him to the woodshed on them trying to raise the pay roll taxes on the middle class, I'm sure Obama will again on the GOP trying to force even more spending for the tax cuts for the rich extention.

It will be interesting, its hard for me to call this one. I would be happy with a compromise in the cuts too, and hopefully we can get Romney in there with a Republican Senate and start to clean this mess up

If that god forbid happened, we would see the Bush tax cuts for the rich made permanent along with even more tax breaks for the rich.
Our nation debt would skyrocket.

The best hope the nation has is for the dems to get complete, filibuster proof control of the senate and strong gains in the house, of course with Obama still president To end this fiscal nightmare, repeal it like it should have been done before, and get the nation back into fiscal sanity.

Yeah, we kind of already tried that one. I don't even trust the Dems to pass a budget, let alone restore fiscal sanity. And this is bsed on reality, not speculation. At last if the GOP is in control we will have a budget with major entitlement reform and spending cuts. And an overhaul of the tax system. The debate between tax cuts versus no tax cuts should be irrelevant as we just need to toss the tax code and start from scratch. Keep loopholes and deductions to a minimum, keep rates flat.

Neither of our scenarios are likely to be honest. We will likely have a divided government no matter what. Obama has a narrow advantage in re-election and the Dems have the advantage in the senate but the GOP has a solid advantage in the House. I don't see a scenario in which both house majorities and the president are from the same party. So it will be interesting to see how they solve things. I still hope to God we get

That's the thing, we've tried republican "trickle down" fiscal policies for decades and they have never worked. Clinton's plan did. It's pretty much common sense to go with what works which is letting the Bush tax cuts for the rich expire and going back to the Clinton plan, which will get the nation back into fiscal sanity.
By going with GOP plans to destroy medicare, medicaid, social security etc,.. while continuing and even expanding the give-a-ways to the rich, and insane military spending, will continue the nation in the downward spiral we saw under Bush racking up unheard of amounts of debt.
Also Obama and the dems have tried to pass legislation to close up loopholes which the GOP of course blocked.

As long as Obama keeps standing his ground and doesn't continue to cave to the GOP's thuggery, the nation should be fine. While it is looking optimistic the democrats can obtain the much needed filibuster-proof senate, the house may still likely be GOP controlled and while this isn't a good thing, it can stop the overwhelming amount of obstructionism caused by the GOP by having the filibuster-proof senate.
