You hit the nail on the head. What I find is those who disparage other ethnic groups usually have no personal relationships with any members of that group.

What the US needs to do is maybe follow YOUR country's ideas about dealing with illegal aliens.
Too; I'm def good with hitting employers who willing hire illegal aliens and hard using lots of "legal" ways.
some reasons why people hate mexicans:
-don't assimilate as quickly as asians or some other immigrants
-poor
-not highly educated
-mass legal + illegal immigration from mexico
-high birth rates
-had an insanely high high school drop out but still the highest out of all groups today
-had an insanely high teen birthrate but still the highest out of all groups today
-fat
-put poopy toilet paper in the trash can instead of flushing it
-some can be very religious

So what if they send money back home. I've sent money to my grandmother mary (when she was alive) and my wife and I sent money to our kids, when they were just starting out, in New Zealand and Israel. Families have done that since the days of Washington and Jefferson. Many of us have global families, and are not a bunch of cousins living in a cave.
Touche' most are. Im a 4th gen Arizona native with relatives on both sides of the border, not an illegal among them. My cousins from Mexico come up to go to college here, get their degrees, then typically get very good paying jobs in Mexico. There's no money going to Mexico because they're typically spending their money up here during the Holidays. Not the typical stereotype, but there are a lot of people living in the US that are of Mexican descent that dont know any Illegals personally.
