He was told to stop by a dispatcher, which isn't an order. The dispatcher also does not know the severity of the situation, so I don't know how much it matters what they say. What the dispatcher says is merely a recommendation, which in hindsight he should have listened to but didn't.
I don't think that makes the self-defense claim not valid.
The severity of what situation? The victim was going to litter by throwing an empty bag of skittles on the sidewalk? Maybe the victim was not going to recycle that iced tea bottle?
You don't understand that in an actual "severe" situation, that would be all the more reason for a non officer of the law to back off after doing what he perceived as his civic duty and calling 911.
Does this mean that all the Republicans can get off the board now and let the racist Democrats fight it out? My Democrat husband's comment is that not one person in Florida cares about this young man. They are all after their own agenda or money. I agree with him and find this really sad.
