The selling of the presidency, 2012

A good read and synopsis of the current Presidency and his propaganda machine at work.

How do we understand this president and his time in office?” the story begins. “Do we look at the day’s headlines? Or do we remember what we as a country have been through?” No, we don’t want to look at today’s headlines and see unemployment up, skyrocketing debt, no budget since taking office, gasoline prices doubled, food prices rising, millions added to food stamp rolls, long-term unemployed at the highest point in a generation. The filmmakers don’t want you to look at any of those things. Instead, they want you to imagine how much worse it would have been if Obama hadn’t been in the White House – because that’s pure speculation, a matter of imagination, a matter of their own fantasies.

Now waiting for the liberal idiots and Bush blamers to come out and post some spin and misinformation!

It didn't all begin in 2009, do we have a short-term memory problem?

I am guessing you didn't read the article and chose to be uninformed. The whole point addresses that Obama acknowledged there were issues before taking office and he has only made them worse.

IIRC this started when the Texas party boy was elected and made worse when we invaded Iraq. the whole mess fell apart in 2007. I do not recall our current President being in office at that time. Pulling this ober speculated economy out of the death spiral is his most important acomplishment.

Republicans sell frauds. Democrats elect real presidents and will do so again.

He increased the debt by a smaller percentage than his predecessor, unemployment is down, the housing market was so damaged that it will take a long while to recover.

The recession was the worst in generations, do you think, for even a second, that the recovery would be swift? Obama never promised a quick fix.

It continues to baffle me, that people "blame" Obama for something that took more than one administration to bring about, and I'm talking back before GWB. The same people scream about gas prices now who were silent during the Bush Administration. (Hint, gas prices are not about a fuel shortage--think speculators).

Food is more expensive...well, duh, it's been going up since gas hit $4.00 a gallon when Bush was in office. You just now noticed? It wasn't even acknowledged then.

Since President Obama has been in office, I have witnessed conspiracy central, declaring as truth everything from the birther nonsense, to civilian brown shirt armies, to bogus "indocrination", to FEMA camps, all perpetrated by the Right Wing. How can any of you ask to be taken seriously when you contionue to circulate that Bovine excrement. You then patently refuse to see beyond your own nose that your OWN PARTY was just as culpable in this mess than Democrats.

You declared Obama was a "Cut and Run" President when he said he wanted to get our troops the hell out of Iraq and Afghanistan, then cry and moan when it isn't fast enough. Make up your damned minds, willya?

Give me a small break, here.

How do you know the economy would have been worse if not for Obama? That is pure speculation. The economy bottomed in March 2009, two months after Obama was inaugurated. That's not enough time for his policies to have any real effect. What we do know is except for the stock market there has been very little real recovery in the past four years.
