lol, the liberal ideology of taxing the rich sure is going to solve our problems. The "Buffet" tax will give the government not even 3 Billion a year. You can cut that much from the budget and not even notice it. So, all you liberals who think the rich don't pay their "fair share", what's the next move?
A bill designed to enact President Barack Obama's plan for a "Buffett rule" tax on the wealthy would rake in just $31 billion over the next 11 years, according to an estimate by Congress' official tax analysts obtained by The Associated Press.
That figure would be a drop in the bucket of the over $7 trillion in federal budget deficits projected during that period. It is also miniscule compared to the many hundreds of billions it would cost to repeal the alternative minimum tax, which Obama's budget last month said he would replace with the Buffett rule tax.
Making the 1% pay their fair share is only part of the strategy. End corporate welfare. If the contribution is "only" $31B, at least it's SOMETHING. Nobody said this was a magic bullet, but it is FAIR because everyone is doing with less, and it's only FAIR that EVERYONE take a little hit.
What has all the crying and yelling and moaning been about? I thought those evil millionaires and billionaires could cure all of our problems if only they paid their "fair" share.
So $31 billion in Buffett Tax against $7 trillion in new deficit spending over the next decade works out to . . . ZERO-POINT-FOUR FOUR percent. 0.44%.
Nancy and Harry and Barack, do tell: what was your plan for the other 99.56% of the $7 trillion? Oh, don't have one? Maybe you ought to bone up on the Republican budget, which embodies the thinking of the president's own Simpson Bowles Commission.

The problem is we have to reign in spending. Democrats never get to that part.
Obama knows that his talking points condemning the rich will get headlines in the main stream media, but the facts will be largely ignored. There is no way 1% of taxpayers can pay off the debt that Obama has created, plus the existing debt. It will fall on the heads of the middle class like it always does.
Guess no takers on my information that Obama owes us taxpayers tons of money for not paying his fair share in taxes.
Obama is a scam artist and a hypocritical liar.
He himself is NOT PAYING his FAIR SHARE but expects the rest of the successful people to pay for his massive wasteful spending.
When is someone going to call Obama out on the fact he is NOT paying his fair share.
After all he is a 1%er himself.
