This reminds me about Mitt Romney's father, George Romney, who ran for President in 1968. Where were the people clamoring for George Romney's birth certificate in 1968?
George Romney was born in a Mormon colony in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico to parents who were US citizens. He was not born in the USA or in a US controlled enclave, military or diplomatic facility or territory or commonwealth. George Romney was basically a Mexican anchor baby born to US citizen parents who were permanent, long term residents of Mexico (not just visiting as tourists). Later upon moving back to the USA his parents established George as if he were a natural born American, but nobody ever gave him a serious constitutional challenge on that when he was running for president in 1968. Why not?
If his name were instead Jorge Romnéz, then the reaction probably would have been much more different. Just ask Marco Rubio...
Lets say this country had a President that wasn't born in this country and was therefore illegitimate, would you want to know about it? Even if this man was a President you loved and totally backed on policy issues, would you care if evidence came forth that he was illegitimate according to the constitution? Would it bother you if a man born outside of this country, with foreign loyalties, was President?
Yes, I would want to know. I'm unaware of a President whose place of birth as not been confirmed or was elected to office in violation of the provisions of the U.S. Constitution.

Yes.
It would.
Fortunatly, we haven't had that problem yet.
