He can influence how the speculators speculate based on policy he and the administration puts in place.

Not supply and demand; commodities market speculation determines oil price fluctuations. The US currently has a surplus of oil to sell on the market.

I think there's little doubt obama's disastrous energy policy, from his "green" debacle to his moratorium, to his slow walking leases, are going to play big in the fall.

Just for clarity, Chu has stated that he does not own a car - even though his wife does. Obama makes him use a Chevy Tahoe with a driver.

Energy boss Steven Chu misses his bike

So it's not surprising that he is OK with high gas prices. The solution is to remove him by removing Obama.

I guessing he lives in a grass or wooden hut that's heated and cooled by the wind and sun, uses not plastic and is forced by barry o to ride around in a battery powered suv! God bless chu! Is my spelling ok?

I bet he had wooden wheels on that bike and nothing on it made from or with the support of oil or other fossil fuels. Get a real life chu!

that much what Gors advocated i his book. Raing rpoices by taxig and that will lower the deamnd for gasoline. Then spend that money on alternte research. The problem is that alternates have proven more expensive and most can't affords the shift.Of course Gore could and in fact would profit fro such a chnage with hsi investents.

Chu has been known to be an environmental fanatic. For example he's got this bizarre idea of painting roofs white all across America.
