Internal documents acquired by ThinkProgress Green reveal that the Heartland Institute, a right-wing think tank funded by the Koch brothers, Microsoft, and other top corporations, is planning to develop a “global warming curriculum” for elementary schoolchildren that presents climate science as “a major scientific controversy.”
This effort, at a cost of $100,000 a year, will be developed by Dr. David E. Wojick (http://heartland.org/david-wojick - broken link), a coal-industry consultant.
“Principals and teachers are heavily biased toward the alarmist perspective,” Heartland’s confidential 2012 fundraising document bemoans. The group believes that Wojick’s project has “potential for great success,” because he has “contacts at virtually all the national organizations involved in producing, certifying, and promoting scientific curricula.” The document explains that Wojick will produce “modules” that promote the conspiratorial claim that climate change is “controversial”:
I hear the Koch Bros. are stepping up with some serious cash (as usual), and no doubt the propagandists on FOX will get the word out to the sheeple.
This is why the Dumbing Down of America is deliberate and calculated. And very effective.
It's about time that children learn that there has been climate change for eons, but that it happened before man was on the planet. They should also know that the "science" has been discovered to be doctored to fit into the man made global warming proponents agenda. Perhaps for the older kids they can add how politicians plan to acquire power and control individual's behavior by taxing them on their energy use.
For years the pro GM crowd has flooded our schools with their printed and video propaganda and now that someone is saying enough of the BS there's a problem?
So when the pro GM propaganda was used in the schools everyone was intelligent but now that people are pushing back against it they are dumb Americans?
One of these days I hope to understand the tree-hugger/greenie logic....
