"....things can change abruptly. If you still have a good job with insurance, that doesn't mean that you're better than me, more deserving than me or smarter than me. It just means that you are luckier. And access to healthcare shouldn't depend on luck.
Fortunately for me, I've been saved by the federal government's Pre-existing Condition Insurance Plan, something I had never heard of before needing it. It's part of President Obama's healthcare plan, one of the things that has already kicked in, and it guarantees access to insurance for U.S. citizens with preexisting conditions who have been uninsured for at least six months."
Then why didn't they just set up a pool to take care of this small group of folks instead of taking over the ENTIRE health care industry? The scream back then was 40 million uninsured. Fact is many didn't want insurance or the cost to pay for it because they were young and healthy, many were already eligible for state or fed plans they hadn't signed up for. The entire thing was a lie and sham to take over control of everyone. All it has done for this woman is reward the irresponsible behavior her and her husband took part in.
There is no insurace care from Obamcare in place.. Someone needs to tell her that Obamacare didnt save her, and plans were in place to get people this type of care previously.
And access to healthcare shouldn't depend on luck.
Its not.. its based upon her willingness to pay for it, which she suddenly finds worthy

But Democrats said people woulnt go for periods of time without insurance, and then pick it up when they get sick..
Guess they are wrong again

Why do I feel like such an idiot for actually paying for overpriced health insurance after reading this article?
Please explain "taking over the health care industry", even a little bit of it.
How hard is it to understand?
In two years when private insurance is forced to take on these pre existing plans they will go out of businesss. There is no need to have insurace because you get sick sign up and tada it's all free. Now the governemnt has complete control of everyone, every aspect of who gets covered, what hospitals have to do and how much they get paid. If you can't understand what is coming down the pike then just keep playing the everything is great game and hey it's all free too.
Fact is somebody has to pay for it. Nobody knows who yet. I have a hunch though and it's not the freeloaders.

Fact is the woman magically found a way to afford insurance AFTER she became sick. Before it just wasn't a priority. Now others are left to pick up the tab. A sure sign of what's to come with this disaster like many have been saying from the onset.

This story shows exactly how this is true..
Nope.. dont need insurance.. I'll just "buy" it when I get sick.
Exactly what we on the right have been saying was going to happen, but we were told that was crazy talk.
Did you guys read the article? They had insurance until they were priced out of it. That's EXACTLY the problem with our current health care system. Some monthly premiums rival mortage payments if you aren't aware...expecially once you hit middle age and maybe had some health issues already. Nobody, NOBODY, can afford ever rising insurance premiums with ever decreasing income. Get real.
