Well how about prostitution rings that round up men having sex with women they don't know, usually in public? I'm not aware if there are websites devoted for men to look for hookers, but I have better things to do with my time.

In my local area, it much more common to hear about prostitution rings in the news than gay crusing areas. There was a story about 4 years ago regarding a local gay cruising spot, but that's it.

In the past, before there were many gay bars, there were gay cruising areas. Some of the few older gay men I know speak about them. Piedmont Park in Atlanta used to be a huge one. Then gay bars started to pop up and gay men and women didn't need cruising areas to get laid. They could go to a local bar and meet someone under much safer circumstances.

These days, the internet has stabbed and butchered all interpretations of the gay scene across America. These days, gay men have venues like Grindr (I admit, I am guilty of using it). Why go to a cruising area or even a gay bar when you can relax on your couch and just speak to any "looking" gay men on the internet? The internet in particular has put the Lesbian bar scene teetering on the verge of extinction.
Bars are certainly a heathier alternative to having sex with complete strangers in parks. But the fact gays have become more accepted and there are more bars catering to them hasn't effected the prevalence of gay cruising areas when men have sex with other men in public parks and other public places. You can theorize that it has all day, but in reality it hasn't. Even though gay bars are common now, these men are still choosing to have sex in parks, which makes it even more devious. This cruising thing is certainly more prevalent today than ever coinciding with homosexuality becoming more accepted.

But the point of this thread was to allow folks to see for themselves that this stuff is going on in their own communities and to open there eyes to see how wide spread it is and talk about how they feel about it.

This is the most elaborate website I could find via Googe with a quick search, but search Google using different combinations of relevant words and you'll find many sites that are guides to places where gays meet up to have sex in public.

Go ahead, search for gay crusing areas in your city. If you don't believe it, go check out an area indicated for yourself. Look for men sitting in cars by themselves.

The liberals can't deny everything I've just said is a fact and real.

So, how many gay crusing areas are in your neighborhoods, towns, and cities?

Are any of the parks places you take your kids or let them go off to play alone?

How come there aren't similar areas for straight people to meet up and have sex in public? What's the difference between homosexuals and straights that accounts for this behavior variation?

Any gays on here care to be honest and open and explain to the rest of us more in depth how these gay cruising areas work?

what is the point of this blog? to demonize gay people by making it seem like we're more sexual than straight people? i don't get the point of this whole thing? should gay people with children be aware of these spots too? you said we should know to keep our children away from these spots. are you implying that being gay has something to do with harming children?

i don't understand what the emotional reasoning is behind this blog or what you're trying to overall say about gay people here.

That's because it's not in the news much, if at all. It's been in the local news twice in the past several years in Kansas City, but i's occuring daily.

The first time was a special on Fox 4 News, whose studio and tower are directly across the street from Kansas City's primary and best-known park in which gays have sex.

The second time it was on the news was when a local developer turned a 19-story office tower into very upscale condos. This building hovers over the park. The developers used their influence to get the city to crack down, but it was a halfass attempt. The city made a dead-end drive of what was once a loop and built a skate park next to the existing tennis courts to bring legit activity to discourage cruising, yet the illegal activity continues. The condos in the building have not sold well, either.

Point is, I live in a metropolitan area of 2 million in the middle of the country and this stuff is rampant here and apparently nationwide, yet I've heard about it in the media exactly twice. The police should be arresting people and the prosecutors prosecuting people and adding them to the sex offenders registry, but the activity continues so it appears nothing is being done.

This is not right. And according to the internet, the fact their are guides to find parks to have gay sex in, this activity is widespread and going on across the country.

Here are a few articles I could nab off Google.

It’s a dirty job nabbing horny guys in the park, but somebody’s gotta do it | Feature | The Pitch

As America sinks further, anonymous gay sex flourishes | Newsnet 14

Google

Apparently in the UK they're actually permitting gays to have sex in public parks. Besides a few halfassed attempts, the police are letting it occur here too. Sad.

The point is gay men are having sex with strangers in parks all across the country, in all of our backyards, and it's not being enforced, nor is the public warned in the news. For being such a small minority of the population, they have an awfully large network of places in which they meet strangers in to have sex in public. This is not right. Straight people do not do this. Why do gays? Parks are typically associated with kids. If gays want a good name for themselves and want respect, don't want to be labeled pedophiles or sex offenders, why are they taking part in this activity?

You know what, while not all gays do this and even those who do aren't necessarily terrible people, it does make you wonder if there is, in fact, something wrong with them.

With 1.3 women and girls raped per minute by heterosexual men and all those children being molested by heterosexual men and the proliferation of all the "schoolgirl anal rape" and other porn for heterosexual men, and all the straight pick-up bars and clubs....why would they need any specific areas?

I've only seen public sex twice, once was gay and once was straight (the woman sat on his lap facing him and spread her skirts around him on the public bench, so no one could see anything except the humping motion).

I'm observant about such matters (especially when I wasn't getting any) and have overheard many private conversations. I've seen many, many times that the guys who rant against homosexuality the most, seem to indulge in it at least occasionally. That's particularly true of fundamentalist Christian preachers, but happens quite a lot to non-religious bigots too. It seems particularly related to drunkenness - "In wine lies the truth" as the old Romans used to say, meaning that the inner character comes out when the inhibitions vanish from drinking.

Wanna bet?
In my youth, when I lived at home, I was quite familiar with the 14th green at a local golf course.
There are lover's lanes all over the nation, for straight people.
Ever go to a red light district.

This is pathetic.

Please, don't think for a second that a person like you, coming onto an Internet forum to bash gay people knows more about trends within our community than a very socially active gay man such as myself. You don't know the first thing about what your talking about. Just about the last place a gay man thinks to go cruising for sex in is a public park for gods sakes. And you know what, if they want to cruise in bars, that is firmly within their right to do so. And if you think for a second that gay men are the only people having sex in public.....haha! My last job was working the graveyard shift at a 24 hour Starbucks. Out of the 8 guys or so working at our store, and the only gay one, I was the only guy who didnt have sex in the bathroom. Public sex happens dude, with both hetero and homosexual couples. If you think this is exlusive to just gay men you need to get out from underneath the rock your living under.

C'mon, this is not hard to figure out; because straight society already has places that heterosexuals can openly "cruise" for sex (bars for one)? You look at gay cruising you are seeing a phenomenon that is largely driven by closeted gay and bisexual men and a lack of gay-friendly social institutions. Homophobia is the root problem here, not homosexual attraction. We still live in a society where a guy hitting on another guy could get you potentially beat up or killed... it's not hard to understand why people would not feel OK meeting a potential sexual partner in the usual manner. Now that there's many hookup sites on the net for men-seeking-men and more gay-friendly institutions, "cruising" is not a significant activity for many gay people.
