Interesting, and I'd tend to agree. It looks like the tear gas canisters were fired in high arcs, over the heads of the rioters. It does look like the video was doctored to cut the part where he was hit. Most likely by one of the rock-throwing rioters.

This is a damn shame. I honestly believe it's not the majority of Occupy Oaklanders, but the anarchist minority, as these were "protesters" who all refused to disperse after midnight, when most working folks were at home in bed.
If Occupy Oakland doesn't stand on the side of the Oakland Police Department and root these losers out of their movement, they will be completely discredited. Oakland, especially its small businesses which are continually vandalized, don't deserve to endure this over & over.
