Guy....Not sure if this, (bolded quote), is in jest, or not. But I heard Maxine Waters say something similar in an interview with Chris Matthews recently. Chris was pressing Congresswoman Waters about the dust up she was having with Freshman Republican Congressman Alan West at the time. At, one point, CW Waters huffed, "Well! I do believe he represents a white district." What she was saying is well-known code for Uncle Tom or Oreo.
Which begs the question. If you are Black and oppose this particular President, are you somehow less authentically Black? Do you have to think and act Black to be Black.
This sort of comment by Black leaders always reminds me of Dr King's I Have a Dream speech. "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."
And in fact, the same rules apply to black conservatives as to white ones. If you want to criticize Obama on his policies, then you go right ahead. If you want to walk in front of a white audience and call yourself the new Harriet Tubman who will lead black people from the "Democrat Plantation", then people will point out that you're insulting other black people in order to line your own pockets.
A dim move. It's pretty much impossible to sue Obama or the Democratic party for rhetoric from "the left" calling someone "racist", you basically can't sue much of anyone for calling anyone else "racist" unless it's willful slander, and this reverend has no standing to file suit in any case, since he's not white. Seems like just another black guy who has realized that he can make money by pandering to the racial anxieties that are far too common among white republicans.
And I see that the site has included the standard "But, but, but the Democrats are the ones who voted to keep slavery!" rhetoric - the same facts that send them into a rage when a black person uses them in discussing, say, the wealth gap between black and white households. I'm sure that if John Calhoun were running as the Democratic nominee for president, black people would vote against him. But he won't be the nominee, because he's long dead.
I see your point up to the end of the second sentence. I do not necessarily agree that speaking to the danger of being beholden to one polilitical party is lining one's pockets. It is true that Black Americans vote overwhelmingly for one party, and have for decades. It may have been the way to political power when it began, but the lemming like following is now detrimental and the followers easily manipulated or controlled through various federal programs.
Sometimes the truth hurts, and can be seen as insulting, especially when spoken by family to family.
What I descibe is no different that the bondage affect of the many tax incentives and programs for corporations and individuals has on our country. Both situations are harmful to our country.

For the MILLIONTH TIME, 'Uncle Tom' is NOT a racist term.
Just because you think it is on an internet forum doesn't mean it applies to the real world.
Neither is the N word. It means ignorant.
