Make it ILLEGAL for hospitals to treat people without insurance or cash payment. If you can't pay, no treatment for you, no matter what. This includes E.R visits, if you can't pony up at the door you you're refused entry.

Hey, great idea! And for those who are mugged and brought in unconscious - bonus! Those weaklings should be out of the gene pool, anyway.
ETA: Just in case anyone didn't realize, that was sarcasm.

next stop, Auschwitz. OP it wont work due to liability issues. As a surgeon in mid 90's my brother had to operate on drug mules in NYC ER ....guess who paid- taxpayers....
Im against it, but its a losing argument. Hospitals are legally liable, and cannot turn down an emergency. Its why there is so much senior citizen "dumping" going on in Emergincy Rooms throughout the U.S. now. Anyone whos ever worked in a metro hospital knows how bad it is~~
I'm fine with stabilizing and then discharging. Anything more than that is forced charity on hospitals. Any bills for treatment given to patients who are found to be in our country illegally should be paid by their home country's government (yeah, right) along with a one-way ticket back home.
No problem, have your insurance card read at all times in case you need to get picked up by the ambulance. Or have the cash available to pay.
If some one takes your wallet, how can you have your card? Keep one prison style between your cheeks in case?
Do you know how much surgery and ER visits cost? Do you carry around $10,000 in case you need emergency surgery?
Where do you get these ideas? I expect small children to be more experienced with life then this.
