The trouble with the Tea Party is they want to transform this country into something we won't even recognize in 10-15 years, If they have their way, we'll be a 3rd rate Banana Republic and all the things that made us great will be gone. Government and compromise are not bad things. Sure, we need changes but most of us still want a government and government programs! The Tea Party is not fit to lead; their only mission is to destroy from within.
Write this down, I'm going to predict the future again.

"We fought diligently against tax increases, but Democrats wouldn't budge. Rather then cutting the defense budget during a time of war, we were forced to give them minimal subsidy and credit removals....."

Democrats

"We didn't let the Republicans just slash programs that average Americans counted on, and ended corporate jet tax breaks...."

Hence, Republicans get to talk about big spending, tax increasing democrats that hate the military during an election year. And Democrats get to talk about Republicans gutting programs for the poor and that they saved social programs from cuts that most Americans want.

And the TEA party can rage, kick, and scream, because it'll be a bi partisan vote in the house, and no one will give a damn about a movement that enjoys 4% approval and the votes of less then 30 representatives.

Again the OP drops off a screed and disappears into the ether. How about sticking around and defending your point of view once in a while, huh?

As to the tea party, they are one force that will be active in shaping the future of this country. Diversity is good.

I would like to point out that all us right wing kooks and tea party people really are radical.

What we want more than anything else is for America to not spend more money than it takes in, in revenue.

It's insane, I know.

In response to this and this is mostly for those who a reading the above direction of gregw. No party will bring you INDIVIDUAL liberty. Socialism nor Capitalism will bring about individual economic liberty while government is powerful enough to control taxes, uncontrolled spending, regulations and promotes dependancy. If you vote for something in return because your a human being and or looking to get by in life on others success washington is the place for you. If you like to tell others how to live, what they can do with their lives, looking to control decide what is best for others washington is for you. If you think stealing other peoples hard work and taking credit for it is the American way and or a right of yours because you live here Washington is for you. If you think people are stupid and can't run their own lives, think spending large amounts of money to change the world and or our country via lies and propoganda washington is for you. If you think the few in washington can provide a safe and confortable life for you as long as the rich and poor are happy to bribe and lobby washington then you will always find no problem in this system.
If you take bribes, think your a moral leader and an example of goodness and viture and will punish those via force and jail for your verison of justice Washington is for you. If you pretend to be for peace and yet look for new ways to support a system built on stealing and killing others in other countires because your religion is the only choice washington is for you. Where food and clothing, education and healthcare are free at the cost of depending on more government and education system that teaches more government as a way of life you believe in the federal department of education.

The tea party is full of people like I listed above, and so is the republican party, the democrat party and any other so called party who promotes the ideas of control over the masses. With the debt ceiling debate I have further convinced myself we the people have no party. We have tried hard to change the parties into something the people can understand and that follows limited government but instead we get more of it. America is full of people who with their own collective ideas via media and other forms of propoganda have decided to give up their freedom, individual choices for the confort in knowing government will fix and provide the wealth and for the cost of living. While your waiting for the American dream the government will provide retirement, welfare, food and clothing from those who stopped dreaming and are dependant on themselves. The system where the rich are capitalist and the poor are socialist serves nobody but those who have the power to control the money supply. The rich have found a way with the FED and our governmnet to socialise the loss when they should fail they just push off the problems. Those ok with this thinking belive the common good to protect peoples "401K" wall street investiments out way the american tax payer and debit. This is the problem of government controlling the market, the failures and who fails and who do we need as a dependancy to give government a purpose.

I have decided I want the option and the freedom to never be apart of the system built with ever dollar out of my paycheck striping me of my purchasing power. My own economic and moral choices are my own and I don't need my government with 14 trillion in debt decide tommorrow taxes will be 90%, 100% of my paycheck. I don't a president and or congress to support more wars, more spending and for them to tell me my labor is now the property of the government. What has government given us?
Did the 14 trillion in debit come from working people, did it just appear from thin air. NO!!! It did not. Has the government got us into 3 wars, bailed out other world banks, all in the name of FREEDOM and security. Who's freedom? This is careless view of the peoples money and our lives is the result of big government.

A long time ago people found that with power in government you can be the master of money, people and knowledge. People with money and or large sums of it via stealing and or corruption will always abuse it against those they steal it from. The Founding Fathers knew a government can't control the economy without controlling people. And they knew when a government sets out to do that, it must use force and coercion to achieve its purpose. From theats to old people in social security and to the debt and interest to the federal reserve we use the coercion and fear to get more power to the government.

I am a slave to this system and every generation after will continue to be a slave thinking this is how it is, that it can never be changed or it's to big to fail. The media will proudly tell you this lie for their lives and media credit comes from more government. This is what those in power want you to think. I want the liberty to break this chain but instead people vote for more chains with the illusion that it will some how find balance and fairness in giving more power to washington.

A tea party was a good concept but I think soon enough it will become the party that thinks just as the other party's do. Rooted at all evil you find a government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have.

Your prescription for the United States would destroy it. There are many things to be unhappy about but socialism doesn't work anywhere in the world today. Unless you like think Cuba and Venezuela are a success.

YOU (especially you), have said before you want to be able to live a low stress life and not worry about much. I think you don't want to work very hard and still want life to be good. I am not interested in an economy or government that supports that kind of approach to life.

You mean caring like THAT?

Every time I think I have heard the most ludicrous thing possible, your post comes along and raise the bar of imbicility once again.

Socialism produces little of anything because it takes away the prime motivation to produce goods and service, i.e. the chance to enjoy the fruits of one's labors. Instead,, those fruits have to be spread equally amongst all the parasite mouths.

Accordingly, nobody produces.

Wealth, not money, but things of value, like cars, houses, TV's,, foods etc., don't fall from the sky like manna - they must be produced with blood, sweat and toil - all directed by the entreprenurial spirit. Socialism has no such spirit, and fails universally.

However, when everything we need and want falls like rain, I'll change my position.

Wow, you must listen to the expert historian Chris Matthews. Congratulations on an ignorant post.

No, thats not insane. And its why the official TEA party has only 4% approval.

They weren't talking about balancing the budget, they were talking about defaulting on the debt. Two different issues.

Republicans and the President have set themselves up nicely for a 2012 election year. I predict a Democratic executive, with a Republican congress. Dems may even cut the throats of their own as part of this deal. Reid, Pelosi, Franks, etc will still be there, but some lesser knowns will have funds and support withdrawn just enough for Republicans to squeak out a victory.

Then when the debt ceiling and the Bush tax cuts are on the table at the same time, which gives both parties chips to play with, they'll hammer out a balanced budget deal for 15 years out. This will encourage investors to open the flood gates of money and the economy is going to boom.

Many a slip between a cup and a lip, but that appears to be the game plan for now.

Nominate Bachmann to lose the white house, but win the Senate.
