The problem now is our system is easy to game and difficult to decipher the truly needy. Back in the Great Depression you could game the system but that would require standing in soup lines all day, I doubt many gamers did that.

Once at a store stood behind two well dressed people with two shopping carts full of food, they paid with food stamps, I figured maybe they were hard workers who fell on hard times, not problem. When I get in the parking lot I see them loading the bags in a brand new Cadillac Escalade. Grrr

My wifes Ex has not worked since 2009, he rode the unemployment game for 2 years since his take home was equal to his previous pay minus child support, which he stopped paying. He moved to our state recently and on the first day was applying for benefits, he even asked if he could use the kids so he could collect more. (ya right)

The shot gun approach is not working, we need to give aide like a laser to those who are truly needy.

Brzezisnki was advisor to Carter, Bush1, Clinton, bush2 (through cheney) and is CURRENTLY advisor to Obama

Zbigniew Brzezinski is Barack Obama’s foreign policy advisor. Brzezenski was the national security advisor for President Carter from 1977 to 1981. In 1988 he endorsed HW Bush for President and was Co-Chair of the HW Bush national security advisory task force. From 1987 to 1989 he also served on the HW Bush’s Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board. From 1993 through 1998 he served on the Foreign Policy advisory counsel to President Clinton. Clinton Secretary of State Madeline Albright was a student of Brzezenski.

Zbigniew Brzezinski is an advocate of socialist world government, a goal he has promoted as a member of the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and as a speaker at former Soviet Premier and Communist Mikhail Gorbachev’s first World Forum. Brzezinski is an architect of creating regions of global governance from independent nations to achieve world government. At the World Forum Brzezenski described the global regions that are now being put into place: Israel and the Palestinians (now MEFTA, Middle East Free Trade Association), Iran as part of a Central Asian region, and China as part of a Far Eastern region. As a member of CSIS Brzezinski has guided their efforts to publish the North American Integration Monitor (2002) that calls for the loss of US sovereignty to a North American Union (NAU) as one of the regional global government blocks.

The proposals(and finalization) for global taxes by Obama( backed by Biden) have come with the recommendations of Zbigniew Brzezinski to pay for globalization and world government. Obama has proposed(and is now passed) a global poverty tax in a US Senate bill. The Climate Change Control Bill strongly supported by Obama calls for an international governing regime to monitor and regulate carbon dioxide and “carbon footprints†from discovery, to production, to consumption at a cost of $50 trillion globally and at a cost of $8 trillion for US taxpayers, all to be paid for by a global tax, whose monies will be used to establish a world government body.

Obama, Brzezinski and Al Gore have worked closely with Communist backed environmental fronts led by Gorbachaev (proponent of Earth Charter, author of Manifesto for Earth), to promote the falsehood of significant global climate change due to manmade sources of greenhouse gases to scare the world and the US into paying such a global tax

Brzezinski openly praises Marxism in his book Between Two Ages published in 1970. Incidentally Brzezenski’s father was an ambassador to Russia from Poland during Stalin’s reign and Zbigniew worked to protect and defend some East German intelligence agents of Stasi some of whose former members later worked to enable the 9/11 hijackers and other Islamic terrorists (Hamburg cell of Atta, Alshehhi and Jarrah). Brzezinski was not born in the continental US (born instead in Poland where he lived until near the age of ten before moving to Canada), and has dual US and Polish citizenship.

Zbigniew Brzezinski co-founded the Trilateral Commission (TC) with David Rockefeller in 1973 and was its first director. Brzezinski selected Jimmy Carter as a member while Carter was the governor of Georgia and before Carter became US President. TC is the primary organization managing the goals of globalization to achieve world government via manipulations of economies, politics and religions of nations around the world including the US.

According to Dr. Dennis Cuddy, Brzezinski, as TC director, advocated, in a 1973 memo, establishing means for social control over the world populations by deliberate “economic and political destabilization†so that later the debt leash could be used to “strangle a rebellious nation into submission (to global governance).â€

Zbigniew Brzezinski’s contrived leash is not limited just to money and capital; it includes controlling populations, and nations by controlling their jobs, their immigration, their food, their water, their energy, their politicians and governments, and their religions.

Brzezinski worked with Republican globalists like Kissinger and US Senator Henry Bellmon (OK) to give the Panama Canal away ultimately for Communist Chinese control (Carter-Torrijos Treaties). Under Carter, Brzezinski was responsible for the severing of direct US recogniton of Taiwan as an independent nation and recognizing only Communist China.

While under President Carter, Brzezinski advanced illegal technology transfers to the Communist Soviets and Communist Chinese. This will continue under Obama with Brzezinski. As soon as Carter became President Brzezinski started to illegally manipulate the export control list to enable advanced US computer, military (guidance systems), energy (nuclear; coal, oil shale, tar sands conversion and synthetic fuels) technologies to be transferred and sold by US companies (such as Control Data, GE and Union Carbide) to the Soviet Union. Many of these same US companies built manufacturing plants using these technologies inside the Soviet Union under Brzezinski and Carter. Dr. Miles Costick, President of the Institute on Strategic Trade, who knew lived behind the Iron Curtain and knew both Carter and Brzezinski, testified and wrote about (The Strategic Dimensions of East -West Trade) in 1978 about these illegal transfers and plant construction projects (that included military vehicle production) in the late 1970s. The practice was curtailed when Reagan first became President only to be resumed in the Reagan second term with the help of Brzezinski’s long-term associate HW Bush.

On February 2, 1979, Brzezinski wrote a memo to Carter falsely claiming that Islamic fundamentalism was not an imminent threat and would not gain prominence in the Middle East. Brzezinski was the architect of the formation of US CIA and Saudi training and funding for the Afghan mujaheddin network, some of which would later form the Taliban and would shelter Al Qaeda terrorists camps. Brzezinski, along with Clinton’s NSC advisor Anthony Lake, Bob Dole and Newt Gingrich, was a proponent of using the Saudis and CIA to directly fund the AlQaeda and Iranian arming and training in and outside the US of Islamic terrrorists from Albania, Kosvo and Bosnia to kick out the Serbs and Croats. Some of these same terrorists became the 9/11 hijackers protected at OU by Boren and in California by Saudi governent royal benefactors. Carter and Brzinski are and have been “diplomats at large†along with Boren for Hamas terrorists in the Middle East and US as reflected in Obama’s pro-Islamic foreign policies.

in 1995, Brzezinski revealed: "We cannot leap into world government through one quick step.... The precondition for eventual and genuine globalization is progressive regionalization because by that we move toward larger, more stable, more cooperative units."

Lenin in 1916 proclaimed:

"The aim of socialism is not only to abolish the present division of mankind into smaller states and all-national isolation, not only to bring the nations closer to each other, but also to merge them." ...........in Brzezinski's BETWEEN TWO AGES (1970), he praised Marxism, and he claimed that "the nation-state is gradually yielding its sovereignty."
lol The Chief knows how to play it doesn't he.

Unemployment benefits have dried up past 6 months for everyone in the past. People need to get on with it.
Take any job for a time.
Move if you have to.
Don't expect old jobs or pay levels to return unless you are that marketable in real life.

the minimum TODAY is what $7 an hour....I was earning that 28 years ago

28 years ago was 1982..I just graduated HIGH SCHOOL,,, got a job at the as a "NEW CAR PREP" (mechanics helper) the wage in 1982.....$8 an hour...worked my way up to class C, then to class B, then to Class A, then to shop foreman, then to maintenance supervisor

minimum wage is for UNSKILLED

and its not necessary....I pay my UNSKILLED laborers (that clean the shop) over $7 an hour

an example:

I run a maintenance shop
I have a shop foreman...$23/hr
I have 3 mechanics.......$20/hr
I have a parts manager...$21/hr
I have 2 mechanic helpers...$12
I have 2 parts workers/drivers...$10
I have 2 labors (to clear the shop)....$7 (2 over min)
minimum wage is $5

the 'government' raises the mimunum wage to 7.5

now I HAVE to increase the laborers wage to AT LEAST 7.5.. and he will WANT $9 (2 over min)....but If I give the "unskilled" laborer $9 then the driver (must maintain a clean liciense) will want more (hey boss, I was making $3 more than the unskilled guy) ...as so on, and so on...

thus RAISING THE COSTS of my SERVICE that I provide to the society.....

so either costs will go up....or people will get laid-off......

there should be NO FEDERAL minimum wage

federal min wage should be ZERO

You pay those people those wages on Long Island?
I could see Pine Bluff, Arkansas, but.......
hope it's a PT job, geared for college kids or retirees....
you're part of the reason why, this economy is only going to get way worse than better.....

If you are going to say Bush tax cuts, 0bama has kept them in place.

If you are going to say the two wars... we have three now, and mini excursions into other countries, with Predator drone attacks.

If you are going to say $10 trillion in national debt, while too damn high, it has increased by 50% under 0bama, and there seems to be no end in sight.

If you are going to say 5% unemployment rate and $1.80 a gallon gasoline, 0bama has vastly increased both. BTW, fluctuations in oil prices and unemployment figures are common, but 0bama has kept them high, and there is no end in sight.

The next hammer to fall will be increased interest rates. I'll bet 0bama is as excited and impatient as a kid on Christmas eve, as he breathlessly waits for that shoe to drop.
