Seems to me that the Wall Street Journal is pretty much just the newspaper version of Fox News these days.
One side having complete military superiority is never going to lead to peace in the Middle East. The reason the United States and the Soviet Union were able to maintain peace was that they had "Mutually Assured Destruction." To say that Israel needs the bomb and the Muslim countries of the Middle East do not is just racist
Not necessarily racist (although racist attitudes usually follow in the wake of sentiments like that and bolster them.) But it does show how ingrained the weird, unaccountable Israel-first fetish is nowadays, at least on the right.

Anyway why Israel needs the bomb... or at least the appearance of having one, since they never outright admitted to possessing it: a deterrence pure and simple. The fact that they don't have total peace yet is not something that can be solved by them giving up nuclear weapons. It should be noted that they do have peace with 2 out of 5 of their neighbors. If only the others were as moderate as Egypt and Jordan (which is 60% Palestinian) there would be peace with them as well.
Why are people concerned if Israel has a nuclear bomb or not? If Israel has one (and Israel has never confirmed that it does have one) it is for defensive purposes only. Why does the USA still have nuclear bombs?

I'd want the bomb too if I were Israel. It's not more immoral for them to have it than is their whole colonial occupation of other people's land--it's merely one aspect of the overall offense.
The reason Israel has atomic weapons is to keep us from invading. We do not invade countries with atomic weapons; we only invade countries without them. Even then we lose because we wind up fighting the entire populations and not just their armies. Vietnam and Afghanistan are examples. Grenada is not because the people didn't care.

If Iran had the bomb they would not use it as a MAD political tool as USA and USSR did. They would just USE IT. The leader of Iran believed that by nuking Israel he can start a chain reaction of events that will bring about the return of the hidden Imam, or Madhi, and usher in an age of conquest where Islam takes over the world, Jusus (Isa in Islam) returns and tells all the Christians to convert to Islam and kills all the Jews. Does that sound like a man you really want to have the bomb?
