What she needs is to be committed. Anyone who goes to that extreme in a neighborhood dispute is in need of a mental hospital and medication. Making personal attacks against a dying 7 year old girl and then trying to run down another neighbor shows she needs prison or mental hospital. Such types of people don't care about gestures you're implying the neighbors need to make. For such people, this is a sign of weakness which shows she can bully them even more without any form of punishment.

The Petkov's must have really wanted to attend that party to have been so hurt as to act out in this way. That's a great compliment.
I would ask the Edward's to get a piece of paper and on one half of the paper write all the things they detest and hate about the Petkov's. Then, on the other half write everything they respect and value about the Petkov's. Try to find at least one thing truly positive about the Petkov's. Now tear off and throw away the half of the paper with all the bad things about the Petkov's and keep the other half of the paper to remind yourself that the person you are fighting with, however bad they may seem, DO have good qualities about them. And maybe you can take that knowledge to springboard forgiveness and reaching out to them in compassion.

Neighbors Jennifer and Scott Petkov, who have been feuding with the family, admitted to posting grim depictions of Laura and Kathleen on Facebook. ..."

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little...........

I would by no means deny that possibility. It's possible she may be entirely closed to any attempts at healing. But there's no way to tell without trying.

I understand. I don't deny what I'm proposing is stretching the bounds of tolerance. But it really did not originate with me. It's just based on some stories I've heard of Buddhist monks dealing with difficult people. It's not for everybody.
She's bi-polar and apparently unmedicated - too bad the judge didn't award HER kids to the father. Though if she keeps this up, he may have a compelling case.
Slavs and Bulgars are known to have a higher percentage of mental problems than other cultures. No surprise here.
