And they're out! Congress flees DC to campaign - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100930/ap_on_go_co/us_campaigning_congress - broken link)

All the more reason to go ballistic on incumbents.

Personally, I would be more impressed of they stayed on the job and accomplished something rather than their fleeing their jobs to lie about what they have done.

Facts speak for themselves, politicians don't recognize facts. Simple.

They couldn't even pass a budget, the most fundamental of their responsibilities.

My Way News - Congress punts tough choice until after election

Quote:
A deeply unpopular Congress is bolting for the campaign trail without finishing its most basic job - approving a budget for the government year that begins on Friday. Lawmakers also are postponing a major fight over taxes, two embarrassing ethics cases and other political hot potatoes until angry and frustrated voters render their verdict in the Nov. 2 elections.
Disgusting.

You will note the Repubs left, too, and none of them complaining that they should have stayed and worked.

Not true. Boehner tried to get the dems to vote on the looming tax hikes, but to no avail.

Middle class tax-cut issue backfiring on Democrats - The Boston Globe

Their demagoguery on the issue has backfired...brilliantly.

Quote:
Some Democrats facing particularly tough re-election fights joined Republicans in protest, saying Congress should stay in session and get more done before facing voters Nov. 2.

The measure to adjourn passed both chambers despite the protests. In the House, it passed by one vote — Speaker Nancy Pelosi's — after 39 members of the Democratic majority joined Republicans in voting no.

I just thought I'd point out that this was a bi-partisan effort. And you see how several of the RWs jumped right in to disagree. This is a traditional recess, and tradition is highly regarded in DC.

The democrats failure to bring to the floor and pass a budget is reprehensible and purely political.
