Residents of the rugged area south of Arizona City, about 60 miles south of Phoenix, told how they saw a spotter for smugglers living in a mountain cave overlooking their land in July. The sheriff's office called the U.S. Border Patrol, who Babeu said found the man, determined he was an illegal immigrant and deported him. Babeu also highlighted a resident whose home was burglarized, presumably by smugglers or illegal immigrants, last week.

KTAR.com - Babeu wants thousands of troops on the border
This is a problem not faced in other communities around the Nation. A very real problem.

Many sincere attempts have been made by Sheriff Babeu
along with the Governor for the President to see the issue
up close but yet nothing

However now that there is an open cave where he can feel
safe and get a thirty mile view, I hope he jumps at the opportunity

As long as the murders, rapes, kidnappings, ID theft, and credit fraud is happening to everyone EXCEPT our elected local/state/federal officials, their family members, and close friends -- illegal Entry into the U.S.A. is officially NOT A PROBLEM.

I foresee NO discernible action on the border issue until the Northern border of Arizona is under siege.

I predict that the citizens of the Great State of Arizona are going to start taking matters into their own hands. As was / is the case referenced in the article, those residents, fearing for their well being, could easily have shot and killed those who endangered them - and IMO, would not have been charged.

SOMETHING has to happen - and happen SOON.

Am I wrong in assuming that the governor is free to call up as many Arizona National guardsmen as her heart desires?

She is free to do so - and has to a certain extent.

From what I am reading it was the President that did... but I digress.

Anyway, if she did to a "certain extent" why doesn't she extend her qualified extent, if you get my meaning?

Well what's taking her so long. If she has the authority to do so and if the border problems is as bad it seems then she should call up the Guard. I'm sure the people of Arizona will pay her and they'll be happy to foot the bill.

Why should that stop her. Surely the people of Arizona should be willng to foot the bill even if it means a tax increase. After all Conservatives are always talking about states' rights. It's time to see Conservative ideals in action.
