As much as conservatives wish to put on their blinders and pretend that Bush never happened, we will unfortunately be dealing with his disastrous Presidency for decades. It's good to see competence back in the Executive Branch again, but I seriously doubt our ability to recover from the Bush years in the next ten years. Actions have consequences that can last a long time, and unfortunately we will be feeling the effects of Bush's incompetence for many years to come. Our history is what makes us what we are today, and history will show what a horrible condition Bush left this country in, a condition that will take many years, possibly decades, to recover from.

Better then the Retarded Cowboy who starts 2 wars (one which was not necessary) without paying for them, and lets his own country sink.
I hope, there is a intelligent conservative in 2012 Bush screwed up the GOP for years.

Yeppers. Competence is the word. Things like putting people with actual expertise in their field to head agencies, not political appointments who have experience in raising money, and horse shows. You see, Bush (and most conservatives) actually believes that the Federal government is useless. So when you believe that, why put competent people in the Executive branch? From the top down, Bush didn't care about the qualifications of the people in the Executive Branch, he cared about how these people had helped his party politically. That's how you get a disgraced horse show commissioner as the first Undersecretary of Emergency Preparedness and Response, instead of someone who, you know, knows anything about emergency preparedness.

Here's more about the incompetence of the Bush Presidency and the use of political appointees to serve in extremely important roles in Iraq instead of people who knew what the heck they were doing:

To pass muster with O'Beirne, a political appointee who screens prospective political appointees for Defense Department posts, applicants didn't need to be experts in the Middle East or in post-conflict reconstruction. What seemed most important was loyalty to the Bush administration.

O'Beirne's staff posed blunt questions to some candidates about domestic politics: Did you vote for George W. Bush in 2000? Do you support the way the president is fighting the war on terror? Two people who sought jobs with the U.S. occupation authority said they were even asked their views on Roe v. Wade .

Some people want to blame the tow truck driver for causing the wreck. Some wrecks are so bad that the Interstate is shut down completely.

We just witnessed the biggest interstate pileup in our nation's history. It's so bad we need to build a whole new highway. That may take awhile.
