From the top down, Bush didn't care about the qualifications of the people in the Executive Branch, he cared about how these people had helped his party politically. That's how you get a disgraced horse show commissioner as the first Undersecretary of Emergency Preparedness and Response, instead of someone who, you know, knows anything about emergency preparedness.

Here's more about the incompetence of the Bush Presidency and the use of political appointees to serve in extremely important roles in Iraq instead of people who knew what the heck they were doing:

To pass muster with O'Beirne, a political appointee who screens prospective political appointees for Defense Department posts, applicants didn't need to be experts in the Middle East or in post-conflict reconstruction. What seemed most important was loyalty to the Bush administration.

O'Beirne's staff posed blunt questions to some candidates about domestic politics: Did you vote for George W. Bush in 2000? Do you support the way the president is fighting the war on terror? Two people who sought jobs with the U.S. occupation authority said they were even asked their views on Roe v. Wade .

Republican motto:
Vote Republican, because we believe the Government is stupid. Elect us and we'll prove it!
so bammer gets some college commies in charge and that is proof of competence. nice.

I would have thought dealing with those ballooning debts and settling tax policy and getting out of Iraq (like he said he would) and closing GITMO (like he said he would) and listening to the American people instead of passing insane healthcare junk that clearly is NOT what he said it was.... and having the transparency he claimed he would have... and knowing his commanders so he doesnt end up with egg on his face when his general wee wee's all over him... and picking a VP that isnt a blithering idiot.... and vetting guys like Van Jones....

But then again, when again a guy claims a 2 trillion dollar stimulus package is going to keep unemployment below 8% I think looking at what happened after that would be a measure of competence too.

I dont care if you vote for the pig party. If the guy in charge fails at just about everything, he is not competent. The guy that came before him doesnt matter anymore.

But you keep believing Bammer is good. LOL. we arent laughing with you.
