If America had enough sense and know what was really going on with the current administration, Ron Paul could win.

Money always win...does Ron Paul have enough?

Agreed. He has a solid following, but nothing that would get him elected as the republican nomination.

He's too much of a fundamentalist. He does have some good ideas, and I like his positions on a lot of things, but electable he isn't.

He's also been pretty well demonized due to the 9/11 truthers embracing him and his not pushing them away.

If it was Obama vs. Paul and the election were today, Paul would get obliterated. I'd rather have Paul in there than Obama - without a doubt - but that's not how it'd go down. What can I say? People are stupid.

Re: the "tea partiers" post at #2 or #3 in the thread - I'm a "tea partier" and he would NOT be my first choice - not by a long shot. The movement may have been started by Paul fans, but after Santelli riled up the people, Paul lost his "center of attention" status. It's not about a candidate these days, it's about policies, positions and voting records.

No, he does not. He also does not give enough money to special interests be they corporate or civil groups. The cunumdrum about not buying anyone is that there are relatively few left to deliver votes.

Ron Paul is a terrible public speaker. Good message, terrible delivery. Maybe Rand can make something of himself and run in 2016. He seems to share the Constitutional conservatism of his father with a little less "whack" factor.

I'm betting the banks and corps will have Obama going up against Romney in 2012.

To answer the original question . NO . And I pray that the Republicans find somebody better to run against the " dear leader " .

Anyways, could he have a chance of winning? What about compared to other GOP potentials?

Corporate america will never allow any one for fundamental change to be the nominate of either wing of the stateist party, not Paul, not Nader not anyone.

GOP doesn't have the guts to put Ron up, they'd turn on him again, just like they did in 08.

Like most of the good ideas that ever came to this country, it'll never happen. THEY will see to that.
