The question isn't why is Arizona being sued and BP not (yet)...
If Arizona is in the equation, the question is why is Arizona being sued and the "sanctuary cities" are not. Arizona passes a law modeled on existing federal law, is more restrictive to law enforcement officers than federal law and gets sued. Meanwhile, cities that have passed laws absolutely counter to federal law and cities that have been actively violating federal law for years are given a pass.
That's more puzzling to me than BP not being sued yet. BP's time's coming. They have already paid out 10s of millions to the federal government alone in addition to the millions paid out to (deserving) damaged private citizens and companies. They will be paying millions and millions more. I don't believe they'll be getting any kind of a pass from America's courts or Americans any time soon.
WJLA-TV, a Washington, D.C. ABC affiliate, suspended reporter Doug McKelway following his alleged "partisan" comments at a liberal rally on Capitol Hill marking the three-month anniversary of the Gulf oil spill. Video of the broadcast tells a different story:
According to the Washington Post, it was McKelway’s supposedly controversial comments on July 20 that led to his suspension. Anonymous sources at the station are now accusing him of "insubordination" in an apparent attempt to fire him.
When a city in the USA becomes the kidnapping capital of the world second only to much larger Mexico City and the federal government sits back and allows it go on even though it mostly involves foreigners here illegally, you cannot claim that government believes in the Constitution.
