What is the area like on Kennywood between Rankin Bridge and say Kennywood Park?

Is there always lots of traffic?

Is it a nice community?

I earlier asked about West Mifflin but no responses- maybe more specificity is in order.

It does seem to be a higher traffic area. It's one of the main routes bringing folks from that area in to the city. As far as it being a "nice" community, it certainly doesn't seem to be crime ridden, but as far as my tastes go, not very appealing either.

It's a pretty dreary stretch. I wouldn't call it nice by any stretch of the imagination.

There is always lots of traffic.
It is NOT much of a community.

Why do you ask? Have you seen that area recently?

Yeah, I wouldn't go as far as calling it a nice community, either. It's not a bad area though, it's just doesn't look very appealing. It's more of a business corridor with houses thrown into the mix.

I haven't seen it in 2 years, I did notice the traffic but also liked the river view. There is a vandalized house for sale on Kennywood - the value may be in the land as its overlooking the river.

I agree with what's been said here. Some of those houses look bad, the others don't. There is a little more traffic backup than usual because of the Rankin Bridge construction. That is supposed to be finished this October. Activity on that stretch picks up in the summer due to Kennywood Park being open.

You will be able to see Kennywood's new coaster being constructed from Kennywood Blvd.
