A multi-million dollar home on Grandview which doesn't actually look like ****.

Not a fan of the amount of gold leaf on the trim; I'd prefer stained woodwork. But otherwise, what a great home!

there's no way this project happens - it's way too ambitious

‘Next chapter’: Owner wants to make the 31st Street Studios in the Strip a big draw, just not for movies

https://www.post-gazette.com/busines...s/202305020129

"New York City-based North River Company plans to eventually convert the sound stages that now dominate the 9.4-acre site into a riverfront playground that includes 750 residential units and 25,000 square feet of retail."

It's there a particular reason you've started reposting everything I post about in the Pittsburgh development thread?

Yeah I don't see that either but I'd love to see the riverfronts revived. Growing up near the ocean I've always loved water, most riverfront area views are of industry and not scenic given the area's history. Won't likely ever happen given the trains running along most of our areas though.

URA board awards first loan in bid to convert some Downtown buildings to residential

https://www.post-gazette.com/busines...s/202305110144

"The Pittsburgh Urban Redevelopment Authority has awarded its first loan as part of a new initiative designed to generate more affordable housing in Downtown.

URA board members approved a $300,000 allocation Thursday to Hullett Properties as part of a $13.2 million project to convert the Triangle Building at the corner of Smithfield Street and Liberty Avenue into housing.

Hullett is planning 15 apartments in all, with three one-bedroom units to be rented to households at or below 50% of the area median income."

That conversion's been underway for awhile, it's just that they ran into cost overruns because the building was in such bad shape.

I used to be in there a lot when Srees was located there.
