Evergrey, why not? I was in the Recovery Room killing time last summer waiting on a friend who lived around the corner. That place looks downright depressing from the outside, everybody in there was having a great time. A little smoky but very welcoming and CHEEP.

Lou's is my local! Love it as a bar, but I just can't do it in the winter anymore when the doors are shut and there's nowhere for all that smoke to go...

The Evergreen on Penn Ave was a favorite hangout when I was still living in Regent Square.

Map Room, Pub in the Park, Dale's in Greenfield, the legendary Chiodo's, the old Warsaw (now the Rock Room), Cigna's/Hatfield's, Candelight (CandleFight), Wilke's (now Jungle Room or something), Holiday (RIP, CMU conquest), the OLD Luna, Mitchell's and Chief's trifecta. Getting off-topic, thread is about bars that are still here haha!

When we were dating, my husband took me to a dive called Domino's. A complete, utterly total dive, located on or around Progress or River Ave? His best friend was usually there shooting pool. Worn dirty linoleum, bar stools with vinyl seats coming apart at the seams. Beer mugs that weighed at least 2lbs each. We all used to have the best times there lol.

Always was my favorite when I lived on the South Side.

Also, Red & Irene's at 20th and Jane was cool, had a different vibe- more of an old fashioned family bar.

Neid's is a real old school bar with a good fish sandwich. Big Jim's is another one in Greenfield. There are a lot of them to be honest.

There's Brewer's on Liberty near Herron in Lawrenceville. Used to love going there years ago - the only gay bar in town where you would never know you were in a gay bar.

you talking about lou's? (or something with lou). i remember going there a few times.

Red & Irene's is so old-school it feels like you are drinking in someones house. Actually I think it is their house. On a St. Patrick's Day in South Side during my mispent youth I remember if you go towards the back, maybe near the restroom, you can actually look up the stairs and see thier living room.
