so tonight I hit a pothole and blew out my tire. im ok with that, but...I dented my alloy wheel. I need a place that could possibly bang the dent out and replace my tire.

id like it to be in the east end, as im on my spare.

before SCR chimes in, ill say it: "damn potholes, see im not the only one who blew a tire"

I hope I can fix it or im looking at $600 to replace wheel and tire (its 20 inch tires/wheels)

I don't know about the east end, but Duke's Tire, on 13th St. on the South Side is a good tire place, as is Albert's at 1st and E. Carson.

Duke's is pretty inexpensive, I bought 4 tires installed there, a few years back for $60 each.

Of course, you get what you pay for, they weren't the greatest, but they didn't set me back much. If you go on down there, you can stop in Jack's or Kopy's for a couple of cold ones while they are working on it.

Flynn's is great. Locally Western PA owned. No add on costs, all advertised tire prices are all inclusive, and they get you in and out quick

I have no idea about this company, but I was thinking you might want to look up someone who does alloy wheel repair, and there is such an outfit that's actually a mobile service: Alloy Wheel Repair Specialists of Pennsylvania: Servicing Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and servicing Allegheny, Washington, Beaver, Greene and Fayette counties

I have used them before. They can be a little tough to get ahold of, but I would recommend them. They will tell you whether your bend is repairable (if it damages the structure of the wheel you have to replace the whole thing). The finish work is pretty good too. I had them fix a bend in one or two wheels and curb rash on 3 about two years ago.

My recommendation on the rim, if it's driveable, wait until April to get it fixed. You might hit another pothole before this winter is done dumping on us.

There's one out here, right off the Aliquippa exit of 376 that's all import stuff as well.

Best Foreign Auto Salvage and Sales Aliquippa Pittsburgh PA 15001

(Haven't owned an import in decades, so I have no idea whether they're any good to do business with or not.)

There's any number. Try that place h_curtis said which is close by for you at least. I'm all for Ditchdigger's recommendations but that one is far away for you. The salvage yards have electronic search that can find the part. I don't know their policy for having it shipped in if it turns out not to be a match though. If they don't have it (and that is more likely than not, although you never know), you obviously don't want to have to pay for a wheel that's not the right one if they have it sourced from another yard.

You can also do your own online search of salvage yards, like this one: Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market But since there are probably multiple types of wheels the car could come with you have to make sure you get the right design. Best to see in person, which won't be easy if the matches are too far away. But if there is a place close it should turn up in the search.

Or call that wheel repair guy that we mentioned. Since Stanwix posted direct experience, that might be a good bet.

You're probably going to be without it for a few days anyway. The chances of having the same wheel in stock in town for used (or even new) are pretty small, I suspect. You might want to see if it could be repaired for not so much.

Meantime, be careful if you're driving on a donut in the snow tomorrow.
