In my opinion, and its only my opinion,I think America is a little backward when it comes to alcohol. In europe, we can drink at 18 legally. There are binge drinkers etc but mainly these are college students.

If we saw people drunk, we would just stay away from them and generally they would be thrown out of the location. When one goes to a soccer game or such, normally we would go to the bar before and have a beer or two, then again after. But nothing crazy. Kids are allowed in bars with their parents until 9pm. My kids love it when we visit as they feel so grown up with their bottles of coke.

Here, we can fight for our country at 18, make many life descisions but yet we cannot have a beer. It dosnt really make sense.

I would not want my kids, on their own, in a park around people who're drinking.

My english must be way off today.
I repeat, I did not say that kids would be served beer. I don't want kids to be on their own around people who have been drinking. Kennywood tradition has always been family oriented. This will change that.

I highly doubt the atmosphere would change at all. A person who is having one or two $7 dollar watered-down macro lagers in the hot sun is not going to suddenly be a rowdy mess. No one is going to pay a $50 dollar entrance fee just to pound $7 dollars beers with the expectation of getting hammered.

ah, well that's something entirely different than people who ARE drinking. I can see your concern that it might be unsafe now like hershey park, which serves beer.

Or pretty much any of the backyard gatherings we have hosted or attended as a family.

My hangover was pretty uncooperative at work today. Mad Mex and their $2 floaters of anejo be damned.

I would not want my kids, on their own, in a park around people who're drinking. In the summer months, there are a LOT of kids in Kennywood for their school picnics. As I said, not all parents go with them. School districts provide busing and off they go to Kennywood for the day. It's going to be a different atmosphere in the park if there are people with access to alcohol.

Insomnia led me here at this hour... bleh...
Doesn't seem to be a problem in Cleveland, Cincinnati, Orlando, Virginia, Illinois, St Louis, Atlanta or Dallas. I guess that, unlike the residents of those other places, Pittsburghers can't help but get drunk if beer is sold in an amusement park. I'm glad that you and Ferlo think Pittsburghers aren't capable of handling what others can.
