Pitt stop - NYPOST.com

...Describes navigation in Pittsburgh as "complicated"...If I were not from here, I would probably get into trouble trying to find most of the notable neighborhoods and touristy "hot spots" mentioned in this article - even with GPS

Well they are saying what I've always said...Downtown is like a little chunk of Manhattan. Tons of things packed into a very small area...from very old sections to new, rich, poor and in between.

I couldn't agree more. It is a chunk of Manhattan.

there was an excerpt of that article in todays Post-Gazette (Sunday, 4/3). i was going to transcribe it, but thought it sounded familiar, and that i possibly read a post about it on this forum.

it was from the article Perryview linked to.

i had to read the excerpt TWICE. i cant tell you how rejuvenated it made me feel. i have been back in Pgh 15 months now, but was already planning on leaving (i just miss DC and the eastern seaboard, but mostly Washington itself, for all its faults). Maybe it takes an outside perspective to have you reminded of what you already know!
