Anyone ever go to Phipps in the winter? Is it a good time to go? Sadly, I have never been and noticed it is on Groupons today. I was thinking of going with my wife. Any other advice on going this time of year?

Thanks.

We've gone in the winter when it was doing a holiday display. Generally, any time of year is fine.

I especially like going at this time of year. It's such a contrast to the winter weather. You go to Phipps and breath in some humidity, the lush smell of the plants, and it can really perk you up for spring.

Me too. A friend and I have a tradition of going to Phipps in February to see something green and living.

There's never really a bad time to go. The only thing that isn't much in the winter are the outdoor gardens.

We usually get a membership and then justify it by going 3 or 4 times in the year, but at the moment we're in a Phipps lull and have let the membership lapse. We'll go back soon I suspect.

Yes, it is nice in the winter. They are open late on Fridays (10PM) and it usually isn't very crowded Friday night. Also, it is a bit different being there when it is dark out. It is a popular end-of-week outing for my family.
