Yes, it was the USS Tower building wide fire drill. I was part of it and wasn't very fun standing out in the rain.

um, so why didn't you walk down the street and chill out in Qdoba or something for half an hour? Why stand out in the rain?

Because, during fire drills, they need to make sure everyone is safe and accounted for. Not only that, a fire can happen in any weather condition, rain, shine or snow.

Yeah, that's a load of bull. Because that's exactly what I did. Walked down to Qdoba for 30 minutes.

Well, I guess for different businesses, they have different protocols. It might be against policy for someone else's employer to allow someone to run up to Qdoba to wait out the drill whereas your employer might not give two s*its whether you choose to walk off site or not. Either way, to me, it seems like you're walking off the job even if it's just a drill.

It's also a load of bull for your employer to pay you for 30 minutes while you abandon your job so you can stuff your face. I'm suprised you didn't get caught considering fire drills aren't a half hour.

You sound like a republican... I believe that people should be paid for how much they accomplish, not just the time that they are inside the office. Paying workers for simply "being at the office" only encourages people to slack off once they are at work.

Now here's what I want to know about Mellon Arena.....

A week ago this past Saturday, I was on my way to work in Cranberry. I was coming down the Blvd of Allies, made the turn to go on to 579 and Liberty Bridge. As I headed to the bridge, I looked up and saw the PPD Command Center vehicle parked on an overhead bridge (possibly Washington Place?) and an officer on top of it looking with binoculars towards the Liberty Bridge/Tunnel. When I got to work, I emailed Janelle Hall and asked if she had heard anything. They checked with police and 911 and apparently they said they didn't know anything about it. So Janelle contacted me yesterday and said she saw the same thing going home Saturday morning.
